Southern Dong Nai city welcomed nearly 4.5 million visitors in the first nine months of 2026, including 118,500 international visitors, according to the city’s Statistics Office.
Tourism revenue was estimated at VND3.405 trillion ($129 million), equivalent to 75.67% of the annual target.
Dong Nai has identified tourism as one of its five key economic pillars. The strategy calls for more effective use of the city’s ecological and cultural assets and transport connectivity, while generating additional revenue from related services.
The city aims to attract 11.5 million visitors and generate VND11.95 trillion in tourism service revenue by 2030. By 2035, it plans to welcome 20 million visitors and increase revenue to VND24 trillion.
To achieve these targets, Dong Nai has identified three main tourism product groups: ecological and resort tourism linked to forest ecosystems; cultural and religious tourism; and agricultural, rural and community-based tourism.
The strategy is intended to diversify the city’s tourism offerings, make better use of local resources and strengthen tourism’s contribution to long-term economic growth.
