The Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center has announced that, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, alongside leading local travel enterprises, organized a promotional program in Australia from October 24-31.

The initiative aims to enhance destination awareness, connect businesses, and expand two-way tourist exchanges between Vietnam's central Da Nang city and Australia, marking a significant step forward in the city's international market development.

Notably, on the evening of October 28, the “Da Nang Tourism Showcase & Networking Dinner 2026” took place at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.

The program focused on introducing the images, potential, and signature tourism products of Da Nang and Central Vietnam as a whole. The offerings ranged from beach resorts, luxury accommodations, eco-tourism, and golf to cultural, heritage, and culinary experiences. Hoi An, a World Cultural Heritage site, was highlighted as a favorite destination among Australian travelers.

Expanding partner networks and aviation links

During the working trip, the Da Nang delegation met with Destination NSW, the lead agency for tourism development and marketing in New South Wales, to exchange expertise on destination branding and product development. Both sides discussed possibilities to boost market information sharing and coordinate promotional activities.

The delegation also met with representatives from Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) to discuss the airport's role in enhancing regional aviation connectivity. Establishing relations with aviation partners opens opportunities to exchange market intelligence and explore future travel links.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Australia is a diverse market with key traveler segments interested in beach resorts, golf, culture, heritage, gastronomy, and nature experiences.

In the first nine months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed 376,981 Australian visitors, up 43.86 percent compared to the same period in 2025. These figures demonstrate significant growth potential while emphasizing the need for continued destination promotion and stronger ties with travel operators.

The promotional campaign in Australia not only opens new avenues for cooperation but also solidifies Da Nang's position on the international tourism map. Through close collaboration among government bodies, organizations, and businesses, the city is step by step elevating its brand image, expanding its international tourist base, and driving sustainable two-way tourism with Australia.
